We have made changes to the Vitality Drive for Business programme

We are excited to introduce updates to the Vitality Drive for Business programme.

This programme has grown steadily since it was launched in May 2018. Over this period, we have collected over 5 million minutes of driving data and drivers have earned over 8 600 Active Rewards.

Using our learnings and experience we have gained so far we are now ready to update the Vitality Drive for Business programme. We aim to improve engagement with these changes by giving your clients more rewards for driving well. These updates to the Vitality Drive for Business programme will take effect from the July 2020 cash back calculation.

Clients can now earn cash back per vehicle

To recognise good driving at vehicle level, clients will now earn the Vitality Drive for Business cash back for each vehicle on the programme based on that vehicle’s driving behaviour. Their monthly company cash back will be the sum of the cash back earned by all vehicles on the programme that month. They will earn this cash back monthly and we will pay it annually in the month after the end of the plan year.

Default score increased to 65

New vehicles will get a minimum score of 65 for the first three months of joining the programme, regardless of whether the vehicle’s tracking device is working or not. This is to give your clients enough time to get tracking devices installed and working in new vehicles and to encourage them to improve their driving behaviour.

If the vehicle’s actual score is higher than 65 during the first three months, we will use that score instead of the minimum default score. This means new vehicles will get a minimum default Bronze Vitality Drive status and clients will get 10% of the vehicles’ monthly premiums back just for joining Vitality Drive for Business.

Company score calculation simplified

We have simplified the company score to be a straight average of the scores of all vehicles on the Vitality Drive for Business programme. We use the client’s vehicle scores on the last day of each calendar month to determine their company score for that month.

We’ll still use the client’s company score to determine their company status for that month and will use the company status to determine the client’s discount percentage at Tiger Wheel & Tyre.

Diamond status is now based on the percentage of vehicles tracking

To encourage clients to engage with the programme and make sure that their vehicles’ telematics devices are working, we have updated Diamond Vitality Drive status to be based on the percentage of vehicles that get a valid score each month. Diamond status will now apply monthly to both vehicle and company level. Each vehicle and the client’s company will earn Diamond Vitality Drive status monthly if they achieved Gold status and more than 80% of the vehicles got a valid score for that month.

We will backdate these changes and adjust the cash back for all new Vitality Drive for Business plans that started in the 12 months since 1 August 2019, as well as for all active Vitality Drive for Business plans that renewed from 1 August 2019. None of your clients will be affected negatively by these changes. If the adjustment results in a higher cash back for the past period, we will pay the difference to your client. However, if the adjustment results in a lower cash back, we will not make any changes to their rewards earned to date.

With these updates to our Vitality Drive for Business programme, we are sure that your clients will get even higher rewards for driving well and engaging with the Vitality Drive for Business programme.
