The Discovery app – how to download your digital membership card

With the Discovery app, you can have a digital version of your LA Health membership card on your smart device.

This is a safe and secure way to store, access and view your details. You use it the same way as the plastic cards. The only difference is that the digital card shows if your membership is active; your membership status is updated in real time.

You can use your digital card when you visit a healthcare professional. The card identifies you and confirms your LA Health membership. Just like your plastic card, your digital card will include your dependents’ details - your dependent(s) can download the digital card by signing up and logging on to Discovery app.

Your digital membership card doesn’t replace your plastic LA Health membership card; it just offers you a digital solution so you always have proof of membership. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can also store this card on the Passbook app.

How can I download my digital card?

• You need to have the latest version of the Discovery app installed on your smart device before you can access your digital card. If you have not downloaded the Discovery app, you can download it from the   or Google Play.
• Log in to the Discovery app, using the same username and password as for the LA Health website.
• This will open the main screen. Tap on the menu bar (four stripes) in the top left of the screen and touch Digital card(s) to view a digital version of your membership card.
• To download or view your Digital cards, you have to accept the terms and conditions.
• The app will ask you to add a photo of yourself. You can choose a photo from your gallery or take a new photo. You can choose a different photo later.
• Once you have accepted the terms and conditions, the app will show all your cards. Select a card to view it and choose VIEW INFO to see your membership details.
