Explanation of the Netcare app permissions

You will need to agree the permissions of the Netcare app for the app to work. We understand that your information is important to you and that you may be anxious about accepting the permissions. Your privacy and the security around your information is just as important to us and therefore we want to make sure you understand how these permissions will be in use.

Directly call phone numbers / read phone status and identity

(this may cost you money)
The Netcare app gives you immediate access to handy phone numbers. The app will confirm with you before dialling a number.

Take pictures and videos

The Netcare app requires this permission for you to submit a medical scheme claim, or a medicine prescription. You can also update your photos on your digital cards.

Approximate location / precise location

The Netcare app uses your location to find partners near you.

Modify your contacts

Whenever we show you a phone number in the Netcare app, we will provide you with the option to save that number to your contacts.

Modify or delete the contents of your usb storage / read the contents of you usb storage.

This feature allows you to save document such as your tax certificates, travel documents and policy information onto your mobile device.

Find accounts on the device/ read google service configuration

We will use this feature to send you push notifications in the Netcare app.

Microphone access

We will use this feature to record your voice to use it as your password. This is currently in a beta phase to a select number of users. Once fully tested we will prompt you to opt into this feature.
