The Chronic Illness Benefit

Through the Chronic Illness Benefit (CIB), you're covered for 26 chronic conditions (excluding HIV - see "HIV Care Programme for more information regarding cover for HIV), no matter which medical aid plan you're on.

You might also have cover for some additional chronic conditions, depending on your chosen benefit option.

You must meet certain benefit entry criteria to get this benefit, which means you need to apply for each chronic condition you have.

For more information on the Chronic Illness Benefit, please visit the following guides and make use of the application forms. Your treating doctor can also register you on the Chronic Illness Benefit and management programme by making use of HealthID, provided you have granted your GP access to your health records.
