Reference numbers for contribution payments now compulsory

We have updated our contribution payment system. All employers must now provide their allocated reference numbers when paying over member employees’ medical scheme contributions to Discovery Health Medical Scheme.

As from 1 May 2017, employers will only be able to make contribution payments if they supply their unique 18-digit reference number along with the payment. The number is printed on the employer bill statement.

Discovery Health has made an arrangement with the relevant banks to block payments that do not have this reference number.

We have done this to ensure that all contribution payments are allocated timeously and correctly so that your employees continue to receive the health plan benefits they are entitled to.
