Discovery MedXpress is the designated service provider for chronic medicine on all Delta plans

Discovery Health’s medicine delivery service, MedXpress, makes it easier for members on Delta plans to get their chronic or monthly repeatable medicine. Delta Plan members have full cover for approved chronic medicine when they use MedXpress to fill their repeat prescriptions.

From 1 July 2014, members who decide not to use MedXpress for their monthly chronic medicine repeats, will need to pay a 20% co-payment.

How your employees can place an order through MedXpress

Step 1 – All members must clearly mark their prescription with the word “MedXpress” and their membership number.

Step 2 - They must then email their prescription to medxpress@discovery.co.za or fax it to 011 539 1020.

Step 3 – Members must call MedXpress on 0860 99 88 77 to place their order when they get an SMS from Discovery Health. We’ll send them the SMS approximately two hours after they send the prescription to us.

Reordering medicine through MedXpress

Your employees with a Delta Plan can re-order their medicine by:

• Logging in to www.discovery.co.za and clicking on the ‘Medicine delivery with MedXpress’  link on the menu; or
• Using the Discovery app (they can download it in the App Store or Google Play); or
• Calling us on 0860 99 88 77; or
• Using the SMS re-order facility*.

*The SMS re-order facility only applies to medicine orders with no co-payments. Members will get an SMS 23 days after their previous order. They must the reply ‘Yes’ if they want to place the same order in the next month. Then, MedXpress will place an order with the same medicine from the month before. The order will include the exact same dosages and will be processed and delivered the same way as the previous month. If your employees don’t want to place the same order, they must call us on 0860 99 88 77.
