Year End Process

As we approach the end of another year, we get to know what the Discovery Health Medical Scheme's healthcare plans look like for next year. It is also the time when members get to change their plans for the following year if they want to.

Because these changes have administrative implications, here is the communication process we have put in place, which will help to make it easier for you:

• 27 September 2013 – the Discovery website will go live so you can view the year-end revision communication for members and employers. You will also be able to make plan changes for 2014.
• October 2013 – the rollout of employer and member communication starts. We will send letters to you and each of your employees explaining plan choices and contributions for 2014. We will include health plan brochures with these letters, which summarise the changes to our health plans and benefits for 2014.

Our letters to you as employers will contain schedules with all the important information about    your employees, including their monthly contributions as on 20 September 2013.

• 13 December 2013 – the deadline for plan changes. The easiest way to make changes to your employees’ health plans is by logging onto the Employers and Group Admin section on www.discovery.co.za 

Your employees will also be able to view their plan and contribution for 2014 on the Discovery mobile app. The mobile app also gives them the ability to redeliver the year end letter we will be sending them in October.
