Discovery PrimaryCare benefit enhancements for 2016

Ensuring good health and wellness for our members is a primary focus for us. In 2016, Discovery PrimaryCare will continue to deliver healthcare services for your employees, which now include dentistry and optometry benefits as a standard option at no extra costs to you.

From 1 January 2016 Discovery PrimaryCare services will be available for R209 a month for each employee, excluding VAT.

Benefits available through Discovery PrimaryCare

• GP visits in the PrimaryCare GP network
• Day-to-day medicine when dispensed by a PrimaryCare GP
• Chronic medicine prescribed by a PrimaryCare GP. Clicks dispenses the medication for the following five chronic conditions:
  1.High blood pressure
  2.High cholesterol
  3. Diabetes
  4.Asthma
  5.HIV
• Dental cover at a preferred provider for fillings, extractions, cleaning and polishing
• Optometry cover at a preferred provider for an optical test, basic frame and lenses or contact lens equivalent every 24 months
• Basic blood tests through Lancet when referred by a PrimaryCare GP
• Basic X-rays through the PrimaryCare radiology network when a PrimaryCare GP refers the patient
• Emergency ambulance services for medical emergencies through Netcare 911.

You have the option to add a range of supplementary services at an additional cost, including maternity, wellness screenings and onsite occupational health services.
